was born in 1965 at Kyoto, Japan, received AB from Kyoto University in 1988, MD from Kyoto University , Ph.D from Graduate University for Advanced Study in 1994. He was a technical associates at the Institute for Molecular Science during 1991-1995, a JSPS postdoctoral fellow in 1995-1998, by which he stayed at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He joined Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Kobe University in 1998 as a Faculty member. Then, he moved to Department of Biophysics, Graduate School of Science, Kyoto University as Associate Professor in 2007 and promoted to Professor in 2013.
